Vietnam has officially adopted a new visa exemption policy for citizens of 12 countries, according to Resolution No. 44/NQ-CP dated March 7.
Under this policy, nationals from Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the UK, Russia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Finland will be allowed to enter Vietnam without a visa.
According to the Resolution, citizens from these 12 countries will be granted a visa-free stay of up to 45 days from the date of entry, regardless of passport type and purpose of visit, provided that they meet Vietnam’s entry conditions as stipulated by law.
The visa exemption policy will take effect from March 15, 2025, and remain in force until March 14, 2028. Upon expiration, it will be reviewed and considered for extension in accordance with Vietnam’s legal framework.
As a result of this new regulation, the Government’s previous visa exemption policies outlined in Resolution No. 32/NQ-CP dated March 15, 2022, and Resolution No. 128/NQ-CP dated August 14, 2023, will cease to be in effect as of March 15, 2025.
